The Pluralist Deconstructed Humorous Body of Her

The first in a series of pieces dealing with objectification and the external gaze; an ongoing study calling to relearn honesty and intimacy in current times.

The solo “The pluralist deconstructed humorous body of her” is the first in a series of pieces dealing with objectification and the external gaze; an ongoing study calling to relearn honesty and intimacy in current times.

Looking at objectification of bodies in general – and the female body in particular – it examines the relationship between objectification and transformation of the human body.

Inspired by the fluidity of the female body and it’s ability to change its appearance and form, the emerging movement language resonates a range of attachment and detachment of one’s own body from the perception of self.

The piece was created during a residency program at, and with the support of Theater Freiburg, on March-April 2021.

It premiered in in TREFFPUNKT Rotebühlplatz as part of the International Solo Tanz Theater Competition in Stuttgart, June 2021.
