Karkerou

The animal and plant universe of the mobile dance piece “Karkerou” is fascinating and mysterious. All living beings create their own unique worlds and cleverly adapt to their surroundings. Above all, animals and plants communicate with one another here. However, we humans can often only guess what they are telling each other.

Together with two dancers, the young audience embarks on a moving journey of discovery in “Karkerou.” What kind of creatures will they encounter? Are they shy and hiding? Or are they excited and bustling around? Do they make strange sounds? Perhaps they freeze completely or change their shape? Many things may seem strange at first glance, but in reality everything is different from what one might expect.

The mobile dance piece “Karkerou” comes directly to children in their school and transforms the familiar space into a vibrant resonating world. Dance, music and sound enter into a dialogue with the children. A lively soundscape accompanies the choreographic journey and opens spaces for curiosity and imagination. The children sit close to the dancers, right in the middle of the action and at certain moments can change their position in the room to experience the piece from new perspectives again and again.

“Karkerou” is an invitation to engage in an artistic experience and gently encounter emotions connected to everyday life. The children enter a new space: sometimes it requires courage, sometimes restraint, sometimes patience. Often, it feels better to simply observe at first before finding one’s own way of approaching and engaging.
