Intensives Workshops 2027

Copenhagen | Stuttgart | Stockholm
& Kärlingesund (Retreat)

We’re back in 2027

Following two wonderful years of Gaga & Movement Research Intensive weekends, we’re excited to return to Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Stuttgart for a three-day creative journey of practice and exploration.

This year, we’re also opening a new chapter: our first five-day Movement Research Retreat within Sweden’s beautiful west coast.

The 3-Day Intensives

Three days of movement, research, and creative exploration.

Across three days, we bring together Gaga/people classes and movement research sessions led by Kari, Smadar, and Lee. Each facilitator brings their own artistic voice, practices, interests, and areas of expertise, offering different approaches to movement and the dancing body.

Daily Gaga/people classes invite you to explore sensation, texture, and pleasure in movement while expanding your physical possibilities and awareness. Each facilitator offers a different point of entry into the practice, opening up new ways to move, sense, and discover.

The movement research sessions draw on Gaga, Fascial Flow, GYROKINESIS® and choreographic exploration. Through improvisation, guided tasks, and reflection, we investigate movement, awaken creativity, and explore new possibilities in the body.

Who is it for?

The intensives welcome everyone aged 16 and above. You don’t need any previous experience to take part – just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Dancers, performers, movement practitioners, and anyone interested in discovering more about movement are equally welcome.

Whether you join us for an intensive weekend, the five-day retreat, or both, we invite you to move, explore, and discover new possibilities in a welcoming space for bodies of different backgrounds and experiences.

Certified as a Gaga teacher since 2019, Kari has taught at numerous dance and acting schools, companies, and through her own classes and workshops. Passionate about sharing the joy and benefits of movement, she brings a deep curiosity for the body’s intelligence into all her teaching.

Smadar Goshen is a choreographer, dancer, certified Gaga teacher, and Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis trainer and teacher’s trainer. She earned her B.A. in Dance and M.A. in Choreography from the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance.
Since 2011, her works have been performed internationally across a range of platforms. In 2019, Smadar relocated from Israel to Stuttgart, Germany, where she continues to create and produce as an independent choreographer.
In the past years Smadar had acquired an expensive experience in teaching both non-professional movers and professional dancers in various platforms around Europe, among them are academic institutions and programs as well as established dance companies such as GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, tanzmainz, stadttheater pforzheim, Dance Theater Heidelberg, stadttheater osnabrück and more.
Recognized as one of Germany’s “10 promising choreographers & dance pioneers” in tanz magazine’s 2023 yearbook, Smadar currently serves as the representative choreographer for Theater Freiburg’s dance department within the Réseau GRAND LUXE network. From 2024–2026, she is supported by the State Capital Stuttgart and the Landesverband Freie Tanz- und Theaterschaffende Baden-Württemberg.

Lee Brummer

Lee Brummer is an independent choreographer, dance artist, movement director, educator, and co-founder of ilDance, an international independent contemporary dance company based in Sweden. Her multidisciplinary background bridges movement, psychology, theatre, and language, shaping embodied and thought-provoking experiences for performers and audiences. From 2016 to 2025, she also directed Gaga Sweden.
Originally from Israel, Lee danced with Bat Dor Dance Company and worked with choreographer Emanuel Gatl. She has also worked internationally with a range of independent choreographers and toured across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Alongside her dance training, she studied psychology, theatre, and somatic practices – an integration that continues to inform her artistic and pedagogical work.
A certified Gaga teacher, trained under Ohad Naharin, Bosmat Nossan, and Saar Harari, Lee works internationally as a guest teacher and mentor, leading classes, workshops, and choreographic processes for institutions, companies, and festivals. Her teaching credits include DV8 Physical Theatre, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Australian Dance Theatre, and Sydney Dance Company.
As a choreographer, Lee’s work weaves together movement, text, and voice, drawing on personal narratives, interviews, and original writing to explore identity, memory, emotional landscapes, and human connection. Her choreographic work has toured internationally, and she has also worked extensively in musical theatre, choreographing Evil Dead The Musical (2024) and serving as choreographer’s assistant on Wicked (Gothenburg Opera, 2022 and 2026), Guys & Dolls (Gothenburg Opera, 2009), and CATS (Cirkus Stockholm, 2009). She has been creating choreographic work internationally since 2010.
